Vision Statement
"The Goodpony" is my (Jan Snodgrass’) online resource dedicated to helping people improve their working relationship with their horses through the amazingly effective work of Linda-Tellington-Jones called TTEAM and TTouch. Linda’s method of working with horses has at it’s heart a deep respect for the intelligence of our wonderful equine friends. It strives to create a partnership with our horses through increased communication and the reduction of the fear, pain and misunderstanding that often create conflict between horse and human.
I use the term "pony" as a term of endearment and it includes all equids regardless of their height or length of ear. "Good" refers to just about any equine out there because I believe that almost all horses would like to be "good"-that is-get along well with the people in their lives. And since this web site is about ways people can get along better with their horses, a "Goodpony" is any equine who’s owner or handler is searching for a better way of getting along, whether they show, ride for pleasure, drive or simply care about horses.
On this web site you will find information about TTEAM and TTouch, articles from the former paper version of "The Goodpony Journal," an interesting series on reschooling a thoroughbred which has finally been updated, information on me and my horses including Harry Who? my wonderful gelding who loves jumping bridleless to music in front of large crowds of people. For those who have read my essay in GaWaNi Ponyboy’s book, "Of Women and Horses," you will find the actual ending to the essay which was inadvertently left out of the book. You can also read about a couple of short spotted friends of mine who would like you to learn more about the abuse, neglect and slaughter of equids and of one organization dedicated to helping them. And don’t miss Maggie Shoosmith’s wonderful cartoons!
Check out my recent updates in basic tteam/touch articles!
Thanks for visiting!
